Ministry of Public Health invests 140 million baht to build a new 400-bed facility, upgrading border hospital
On October 9, 2026, Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new medical treatment building at Kantharalak Hospital in Si Sa Ket Province. This project represents a significant investment in developing public health infrastructure in the northeastern border region.
The new building has a capacity of 400 beds and a construction budget of over 140 million baht. The primary objective of this initiative is to increase the capacity to accommodate a growing number of patients, both from within the Kantharalak district and surrounding areas, as well as citizens living along the border.
Upgrading the hospital will allow the public to access quality medical services more conveniently and quickly. Furthermore, it serves to prepare equipment and facilities for treating complex diseases, which will help reduce the burden of transferring patients to large central hospitals in the city.
The Ministry of Public Health expects that once the construction of this building is completed, it will help strengthen public health service standards in the region and ensure that citizens in border areas receive comprehensive and efficient healthcare, in line with government policy.
