Thai Senate launches 'Senate Forum 2026' project to propel Thai research into the global market
The Thai Senate has launched a major project titled "Senate Forum 2026," with the primary goal of fostering a significant collaboration between the public sector, academia, and the business sector to advance the country's economy to the next level.
This project represents a major mobilization of over 22 leading universities nationwide, along with 55 research agencies and business organizations, to collectively address problems and develop the country through the application of academic knowledge and new innovations.
The core focus of this initiative is to bring "research from the shelf to the shop," which means transforming research that previously remained only in classrooms or laboratories into products and services that can be used in the actual market, in order to generate revenue and increase Thailand's competitive edge.
Furthermore, the Senate aims to utilize the data and knowledge gained from this project to improve legislative work, ensuring that the country's laws and policies remain modern and aligned with the rapidly changing global economic landscape.
This operation is considered a significant step that will help drive Thailand's future, with the expectation that collaboration across all sectors will help create new opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs and citizens in the long term.
