Experts advise Thailand to remain neutral in the US-China AI technology race
Currently, the competition in artificial intelligence (AI) technology between the two global superpowers, the United States and China, is intensifying, impacting countries around the world, including Thailand, which must adapt to the situation.
Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, an expert in technology, has expressed the opinion that Thailand should maintain neutrality in the AI conflict between these two countries rather than choosing a side, in order to protect national interests and create opportunities for its own technological development to grow sustainably.
A key approach that Thailand should accelerate is the strengthening of its domestic database and technology development. Relying solely on foreign technology may not be sufficient in the long term; therefore, supporting local personnel and innovation is the heart of helping Thailand compete and stand firm on the global stage.
Furthermore, preparing laws and policies related to AI is a matter that the government must prioritize to ensure that the use of technology is safe and efficient, as well as building diverse international collaborations to exchange knowledge and technology.
In conclusion, maintaining a balance between superpowers and focusing on developing the potential of the Thai people will be the best solution for Thailand to step into the digital age securely, amidst the rapid changes in global technology at this time.
