New Collaboration Between the Defense Industry and Universities
An important step has been taken in line with Turkey's domestic production goals in the field of defense industry. The Presidency of Defense Industries met with the Rector of Bursa Technical University to strengthen its ties with universities.
In this meeting, the aim is to make greater use of the academic knowledge of universities in defense industry projects. In particular, increasing university-industry cooperation in domestic technology development processes plays a critical role in reducing Turkey's foreign dependency in this field.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on how students and academics could be involved in defense projects. The ways in which Bursa Technical University's technical infrastructure could contribute to defense industry projects were discussed in detail.
Such collaborations support Turkey's vision of becoming a self-sufficient country in defense technologies. It is expected that similar projects will be expanded to other universities in the coming period and that domestic production will gain momentum.
