Mondi Turkey Closes Its Factory in Gebze
Mondi Turkey, which operates in the packaging and paper sector, has decided to close its production facility located in the Gebze district of Kocaeli. In an official statement released by the company, it was shared with the public that the factory's operations have been terminated.
Sharing details regarding the closure process, the company management stated that the rights of the employees are being protected. The statement noted that a total of 66.8 million TL in severance and notice pay has been paid to the personnel working at the factory.
It was emphasized that these compensation payments were made to fulfill the legal rights of the departing employees. Mondi Turkey stated that this decision was taken in line with the company's general strategic planning.
Following the closure of the facility in Gebze, it was learned that the company will continue its operations at its other production centers. Industry representatives are closely monitoring the effects of this development on employment and production balances in the region.
