A New Era in Turkey's Defense Industry: Yıldırımhan and Tayfun Block-4
Turkey continues to develop its domestic production capacity in the field of defense industry. With recent efforts, Turkey's first intercontinental ballistic missile projects and long-range missile systems are attracting public attention. These developments support the country's goal of reducing its dependence on foreign sources for defense technologies.
One of the prominent projects, the Tayfun Block-4 missile, draws attention with its technical specifications. Measuring ten meters in length and weighing 7,200 kilograms, this missile holds the distinction of being one of the longest-range systems produced with Turkey's national resources. Engineering efforts are focused on increasing both the range capacity and the striking power of the missile.
Defense experts state that such projects are of critical importance for Turkey's regional security strategies. Beyond being a military power element, domestically produced missiles represent Turkey's technological independence and competence in the defense industry.
Turkey aims to complete the testing processes of these missile systems and include them in its inventory in the coming period. These advancements in the defense industry are considered part of the decisive steps taken toward the development of domestic technologies.
