Industrial Production in Türkiye Experiences a Decline
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the industrial production data for August. According to the statement, Türkiye's industrial production saw a decline of 1.9 percent compared to the same month last year.
This downturn in industrial production highlights a slowdown in economic activity. The data reveals that the industrial sector as a whole is experiencing a contraction and that the downward trend on a monthly basis is continuing.
In contrast, a different picture emerges in the energy sector. The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector recorded an increase of 1.3 percent compared to August of last year.
