New Success in Azerbaijan-Turkey Defense Industry Cooperation
The Azerbaijani Air Force has achieved a significant milestone by utilizing technologies developed by the Turkish defense industry company ASELSAN. The modernized Su-25ML fighter jets successfully tested the LGK-82 laser guidance kits produced by ASELSAN.
This testing process has once again demonstrated the strength of the defense industry cooperation between the two countries. The LGK-82 guidance kit transforms standard bombs into smart munitions, allowing targets to be struck with much higher precision. This technology plays a critical role in increasing operational efficiency.
Within the scope of the modernization project, the capabilities of the aircraft currently in Azerbaijan's inventory were enhanced through Turkish engineering. In the trials conducted, the fact that the munition released from the aircraft hit the target with pinpoint accuracy proved the reliability and effectiveness of the system. This development is also viewed as a noteworthy step regarding the balance of defense technologies in the region.
Turkey and Azerbaijan have long been continuing their joint projects in the defense sector. This strategic partnership between the two countries both facilitates technology transfer and strengthens their joint defense capacity. These systems developed by ASELSAN continue to find an increasing place in the inventories of friendly and allied nations.
