Vitamin Use on the Rise in Turkey: Vitamin D Deficiency is Widespread
Recent studies conducted in Turkey reveal that a large portion of adults suffer from vitamin deficiencies. According to health data, vitamin D deficiency is observed in two out of every three adults. This situation has significantly increased interest in vitamin supplements across the general population.
This rising demand has also stimulated the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement sector. According to 2025 data, the supplement market in Turkey has shown a 57 percent growth compared to the previous year. The trend of citizens turning to vitamins to protect their health is considered the most significant factor in the expansion of the market.
This rapid growth in the sector has also been reflected in import figures. Turkey's imports of raw materials needed for vitamin production have increased by 32 percent over the last two years. With this increase, the total value of imported vitamin raw materials has reached 140 million dollars.
Experts draw attention to the importance of conscious use in addressing vitamin deficiencies. Stating that dietary supplements should be used under medical supervision and when necessary, officials remind the public that a balanced diet is also a fundamental element for health.
