New Laser Weapon System for Air Defense from MKE
The Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) has taken a significant step to strengthen Turkey’s air defense capacity. In addition to existing equipment, a modern 'Laser Weapon System' has been successfully integrated into the newly developed Air Defense System.
This new technology aims to provide more effective protection against aerial threats. Thanks to the acoustic detection system added to the system, approaching aircraft or unmanned aerial vehicles can be detected much more quickly.
Another important component that increases the power of the system is the ENFAL-17 missile. The combined use of the laser weapon and the missile system ensures that the defense line is more resilient against both short- and medium-range threats.
These developments are of great importance in line with Turkey’s domestic defense industry goals. With the new system becoming mission-ready, the aim is to protect the security of the airspace with higher technology.
