Gender Equality Training for Healthcare Workers in Turkmenistan
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have launched a new project for the healthcare system in Turkmenistan. Within the scope of this collaboration, gender-sensitive approach training has been initiated for healthcare professionals in the country.
The primary objective of the training program is to observe gender equality in the delivery of healthcare services and to increase the awareness of healthcare workers on this issue. The project aims to provide more inclusive and effective healthcare services by focusing specifically on the differences in the health needs of women and men.
Through these trainings, healthcare experts will learn to demonstrate a more conscious approach in their communication with patients. Furthermore, technical knowledge necessary for preventing gender-based discrimination in healthcare institutions and improving service quality is being conveyed to the participants.
This initiative, which holds great importance in terms of regional cooperation, aims to contribute to Turkmenistan's healthcare reforms. It is believed that similar projects could serve as a model for healthcare systems in neighboring countries.
In conclusion, this joint initiative by the UNDP and UNFPA is considered an important step taken toward creating a fairer and more equitable working environment in the healthcare sector. The trainings are expected to have a positive impact on the overall quality of healthcare services in Turkmenistan.
