A Major Leap in Turkey's Defense Industry: New Contracts Signed
Turkey has taken a significant step toward increasing its domestic production capacity in the defense industry. As a result of negotiations held in the first week of October, large-scale contracts aimed at developing the country's defense technologies were officially signed.
Completed between October 5 and 11, 2026, these agreements provide a significant contribution to Turkey's defense budget and technological infrastructure. According to the statement, the total value of the signed contracts reached 2.46 billion euros and 320 million dollars.
One of the most notable developments in this process was the implementation of the HÜRSAT-2 project. Developed with domestic resources, this system is considered a strategic step aimed at strengthening Turkey's independence in the defense industry.
These investments were planned with the dual purpose of ensuring Turkey's own security and increasing its competitive power in the global defense market. Experts state that such domestic projects will reduce technological dependence on foreign sources in the long term.
With these new agreements, Turkey has moved one step closer to its goals in the field of defense technologies. In the coming period, it is expected that the production processes for these signed projects will be accelerated and that the domestic systems will be integrated into the inventory.
