MKE Strengthens Air Defense Systems with New Laser Technology
The Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) has taken a new technological step to increase Turkey's air defense capacity. The institution announced that the 'Laser Weapon System,' developed to be integrated into existing air defense systems, is ready for duty.
This new system was developed in line with Turkey's domestic production goals in the defense industry. The Laser Weapon System aims to provide effective protection, particularly against low-altitude aerial threats. The system has been designed to respond quickly to the changing needs of modern battlefields.
In addition to laser technology, acoustic detection systems and ENFAL-17 missiles have been added to the air defense system. This triple structure significantly increases the system's capability for both detection and destruction. While acoustic systems detect threats from a distance, the laser and missile systems neutralize these threats.
Defense experts state that this integration is a critical development for the security of Turkey's airspace. With the use of these new systems in the field, the goal is to produce more economical and rapid solutions, particularly against unmanned aerial vehicles and similar aerial threats.
