Important Data on Cancer Screenings in Türkiye Announced
The Ministry of Health has shared current data with the public regarding cancer screening efforts conducted across Türkiye. According to the statement made by the Ministry, a total of 16.1 million people have been screened for cancer nationwide. These efforts are considered a major step in the fight against cancer types where early diagnosis is of vital importance.
As a result of detailed examinations and screenings, 36,000 people were diagnosed with cancer. These cases, detected at an early stage, allowed patients to begin their treatment processes more quickly. Experts emphasize that regular screenings are the most effective method in the fight against the disease.
The Ministry is also actively using mobile cancer screening vehicles to bring screening services directly to citizens. More than 515,000 screening services have been provided across the country through these mobile units. This service provides great convenience, especially for citizens in regions with limited access to healthcare facilities.
Cancer screenings are planned to cover types such as breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer. The Ministry of Health continues to encourage citizens to undergo regular check-ups. It is known that treatment success is much higher in cases detected early.
