Giant Flight Plan from Russia to Turkey: 400 Flights per Week May Not Be Enough
Flight traffic with Russia, one of the most important markets for Turkish tourism, is preparing to reach a new level in 2026. Recent analyses by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) show that travel demand between the two countries will be quite high in the coming period.
According to the data, approximately 400 flights per week are planned from Russia to Turkey during the 2026 summer season. At the center of these flights is Antalya, as is the case every year. Antalya continues to maintain its top position in the holiday preferences of Russian tourists.
Tourism experts state that even 400 weekly flights may not be enough to meet the intense demand. It is noted that despite current planning, additional flights and more capacity may be needed during the peak of the holiday season.
This activity represents a significant economic potential for hotel operators and local tradespeople in Turkey. In particular, tourist facilities along the Mediterranean coast have already begun planning their preparations according to the expected increase in the number of tourists. The increase in the number of flights is also expected to have a positive impact on employment in the region.
As a result, tourism ties between Russia and Turkey continue to strengthen. The 2026 summer season looks set to be a very active and productive year for both airline companies and the tourism sector.
