Vienna police publish photos of five teenagers and request assistance
The police in Vienna are currently conducting an intensive search for five young men suspected of committing a serious robbery on one of the city's trains in April.
On April 21 at around 12:30 PM, five teenagers cornered a 14-year-old boy inside a train compartment and forced him to hand over money. When he refused, they punched him several times in the face, then stole his bank card and forced him at knifepoint to give them the card's PIN.
Moments later, when the train stopped at Wien-Westbahnhof station, the young men left the train and fled to an unknown direction. Later, they withdrew an amount of money from the victim's account using the stolen card.
The criminal investigation unit in Vienna was able to obtain images of the suspects through surveillance cameras at the station.
At the request of the Landespolizeidirektion Wien and by order of the Staatsanwaltschaft Wien, photos of the suspects have been published in the media, and the police request anyone with information (even if anonymous) to contact the criminal office at 01-31310-33800. It is noted that the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
