Ukraine plans to strengthen state control over surrogacy
A new draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which aims to change the rules for the use of surrogacy. This field of medicine has long required clear legislative regulation, so the initiative has sparked significant interest in society.
The main goal of the document is to bring the surrogacy process under strict state control. The authors of the project propose to introduce new standards that will help protect the rights of all participants in the process: parents, surrogate mothers, and children born in this way.
Currently, the details of the draft law are being processed by the relevant parliamentary committees. Lawmakers emphasize that the changes are necessary to make this medical service more transparent and safe, as well as to avoid any legal violations in the future.
It is expected that after review in the committees, the document will be submitted for a vote in the session hall. The adoption of this law could significantly change the operating rules for medical institutions that provide reproductive medicine services in Ukraine.
