High-speed rail link between Belgrade and Budapest to launch at the end of summer
The high-speed rail link between the capitals of Serbia and Hungary, Belgrade and Budapest, is expected to open at the end of this summer. This project is part of a major European transport network designed to significantly reduce travel time between the cities.
Thanks to the new infrastructure, passengers will be able to travel from one city to the other much faster than before. It is expected that the trains will reach high speeds, making travel more comfortable and efficient for the thousands of people who cross the border daily for business or tourism.
For Ukraine, this project is significant in the context of developing a pan-European transport system. Improving rail connections in Central Europe contributes to better integration of transport corridors, which could positively influence logistics links with European Union countries in the future.
Currently, construction work on key sections of the railway is in the final stages. Technical teams are checking track safety and the readiness of stations to receive high-speed trains to ensure the smooth operation of the new route immediately after launch.
The launch of this connection will be an important step for the development of international transport in the region. It is expected that the official train schedule and ticket prices will be announced by the railway operators closer to the opening date.
