Mysterious tracks on Mars: Curiosity rover makes an unexpected discovery
The Curiosity spacecraft, which is exploring the surface of Mars, has sent new images back to Earth that have sparked lively discussion among scientists. On May 19, 2025, the rover recorded unusual tracks against the backdrop of the planet's rocky hills.
Preliminary analysis of the images showed that these imprints do not belong to any of the known spacecraft that have previously operated on Mars. NASA specialists are currently carefully studying the data received to understand the nature of their origin.
At present, scientists are considering several theories for the appearance of the tracks. Among them are unusual geological processes, soil erosion caused by Martian winds, or other natural phenomena that have not been previously described in detail by researchers.
This discovery serves as a reminder of how little we still know about the "Red Planet." Further research will help determine whether these tracks are the result of natural landscape changes or if they point to new features of the Martian surface that had previously gone unnoticed.
