EU to provide financial support to Ukraine until the end of 2026
The European Union has officially identified funding sources for Ukraine for the next two years. This decision guarantees stable support for the Ukrainian state budget and the defense sector until the end of 2026. Such assistance is critically important for the country's economic resilience in the face of a prolonged war.
The financial program provides for regular payments that will be directed toward covering social expenses, salaries for public sector employees, and support for the army. European partners emphasize that these funds will help Ukraine maintain the operation of state institutions, despite constant challenges and infrastructure destruction.
In addition to direct budgetary support, the EU continues to work on mechanisms for utilizing frozen Russian assets. The profits generated from these assets will also be directed toward Ukraine's needs. This will reduce the burden on European taxpayers and provide additional resources for reconstruction and defense.
This financial strategy is part of a long-term aid plan that was agreed upon by the leaders of EU countries. Thanks to a clear funding schedule, the Ukrainian government will be able to better plan expenditures and ensure the stability of the national currency. Such support is a signal of solidarity and the international community's belief in Ukraine's victory.
