Mental health of Ukrainians: one in three citizens may have symptoms of PTSD
According to the latest data, the problem of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has become one of the main challenges for Ukrainian society. Experts note that one in three Ukrainians may encounter symptoms of this condition. It is important to understand that this applies not only to military personnel but also to civilians who have experienced traumatic events during the war.
PTSD is a chronic mental condition that arises as a reaction to extremely traumatic events. Symptoms may include intrusive memories, a constant feeling of anxiety, sleep problems, and difficulties in communicating with other people. Due to the prolonged impact of stress factors, the risk of developing this disorder increases significantly among broad segments of the population.
Medical experts emphasize the need for timely diagnosis and professional support. Ignoring symptoms can lead to a deterioration in health and affect a person's quality of life. Today, there are state and public initiatives in Ukraine that help citizens receive free psychological assistance and consultations from specialists.
To overcome this problem, the state plans to expand the network of psychological support centers. It is important that everyone who feels psychological discomfort does not remain alone with their experiences. Seeking help from a psychologist or psychotherapist in a timely manner is the first step toward restoring mental health and returning to a full life.
