WHO warehouse damaged in Russian shelling in Odesa region

In the Odesa region, Russian forces launched an attack on a World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse. As a result of the shelling, the premises where medical supplies and humanitarian aid were stored were damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured during this attack.

This is the fourth instance in the last three months where medical infrastructure facilities associated with international organizations have become targets of Russian attacks. Such incidents seriously complicate the work of medical personnel and the delivery of essential medicines to the civilian population, who are in the greatest need of help during the war.

In total, since the beginning of 2026, 21 cases of damage to medical facilities in Ukraine due to enemy shelling have been recorded. International organizations emphasize that such actions violate the norms of international humanitarian law, which prohibit attacks on medical institutions.

Currently, specialists are assessing the scale of the damage caused and are trying to restore logistical chains for the supply of medicines. Despite the constant threat, humanitarian missions continue to work in the regions to provide Ukrainians with the necessary assistance.
