Jared Kushner comments on the possibility of a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia
Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump, has made a statement regarding the prospects for ending the war in Ukraine. According to him, most of the terms for signing a peace agreement between Kyiv and Moscow have allegedly already been agreed upon by the parties.
Kushner identifies Ukraine's refusal to retreat from its positions on the front line as the main obstacle to reaching an agreement. According to his assertion, the Russian side is demanding changes to the current demarcation line, to which the Ukrainian authorities do not currently agree.
This statement has caused a significant stir, as it concerns the strategic vision of the future White House administration regarding the resolution of the conflict. Ukraine's position remains unchanged: any negotiations must be based on respect for the state's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Currently, official Kyiv continues to insist on the implementation of the "Peace Formula," which provides for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from all occupied territories. The Ukrainian leadership has repeatedly emphasized that it will not make territorial concessions for the sake of a ceasefire.
The international community is closely monitoring developments, as future decisions by the new US administration could significantly affect the course of the war. The question of whether it will be possible to find a compromise that would satisfy Ukraine and ensure lasting peace remains open.
