Petro Poroshenko discussed strengthening Ukraine's defense with European Commissioner
The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, held an important meeting with the European Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrius Kubilius, during his visit to Lithuania. The main topic of the conversation was strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the context of the full-scale war.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bolstering the Ukrainian air defense system. This is a critically important area, as protecting the skies remains a priority for the security of Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.
Special attention was paid by the politicians to the development of a "drone alliance" between Ukraine and the European Union. Cooperation in the field of unmanned technologies is intended to help the Ukrainian military more effectively counter the enemy on the front lines through the use of the latest European developments.
Andrius Kubilius, who recently took office as the European Commissioner for Defense, reaffirmed the importance of EU support for Ukraine. Such negotiations contribute to the deeper integration of the Ukrainian defense sector with European standards and resources.
This visit to Lithuania is part of diplomatic efforts aimed at attracting additional assistance for Ukraine. Strengthening cooperation with European partners remains a key factor in reinforcing the Ukrainian army and bringing victory closer.
