Ukraine accelerates development of new countermeasures against jet-powered drones
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an important task for the defense sector: to significantly accelerate the creation of specialized interceptors. These new technologies are being developed to effectively combat enemy jet-powered "Shahed"-type drones, which are becoming an increasingly difficult target for Ukrainian air defense.
Work on the project is currently actively underway. According to government representatives, specialists already have ready-made prototypes of the devices, which are undergoing the necessary testing. In addition to technical developments, deadlines for the implementation of this task have been clearly defined to ensure that new solutions are deployed on the battlefield as quickly as possible.
Furthermore, a plan for conducting asymmetric operations was approved during the meetings. This means that Ukraine is seeking unconventional and effective ways to counter the enemy, which will allow for the minimization of threats to civilian infrastructure and military facilities.
Strengthening domestic weapons production remains one of the state's top priorities. The development of modern interceptors will help Ukrainian defenders better control the airspace and protect Ukrainian cities from nighttime attacks.
