Fuel shortage in Russia: consequences of attacks on oil refineries
The Embassy of Poland in Ukraine has reported serious fuel problems in Russia. According to diplomats, shortages of gasoline and diesel are being observed even in Moscow, which previously had better resource security than other regions.
This situation is a consequence of the successful actions of Ukrainian forces. According to recent estimates, Ukraine has managed to damage about half of the oil refining capacity on the territory of the Russian Federation. Strikes on strategic facilities have significantly reduced fuel production volumes.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski commented on these events, questioning Russia's ability to continue exporting petroleum products. He noted that given the internal shortages in the aggressor country, a logical question arises: where will they get surpluses to sell abroad?
Reduced fuel production affects not only Russia's domestic market but also the logistics of the Russian army. Experts believe that limited access to fuel could complicate military operations and impact the country's economic indicators.
Currently, the situation in the Russian energy sector remains tense. International observers continue to monitor how the resource shortage will affect Moscow's future actions and the global petroleum product market.
