Ukraine to receive funding from the EU for the purchase of Patriot missiles
Ukraine has gained new opportunities to strengthen its air defense system. The European Union has made a decision that will allow our country to use loan funds to purchase modern missiles for Patriot systems. This is an important step toward protecting the Ukrainian sky from enemy attacks.
Patriot systems have repeatedly proven their effectiveness in countering ballistic and cruise missiles. However, their operation requires a constant supply of ammunition. Thanks to financial support from the EU, Ukraine will be able to replenish its stocks of these missiles more quickly, which will significantly increase the security of cities and critical infrastructure.
This decision is part of a broader aid strategy aimed at supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities. European partners emphasize that strengthening Ukrainian air defense remains one of the top priorities for the security of all of Europe. It is expected that the first deliveries of missiles purchased with these funds will begin in the near future.
Ensuring a sufficient number of air defense assets will allow for better protection of the civilian population and energy facilities ahead of the winter period. Ukraine continues to cooperate with international partners to obtain the necessary weaponry and financial assistance to counter the aggression.
