War veteran Lesyk Hlazun spoke about the challenges for LGBT military personnel in Ukraine
Lesyk Hlazun, a veteran of the Rubizh Brigade, shared his story of service and life during the full-scale invasion. He took part in heavy fighting for Sievierodonetsk and Bakhmut, where he defended Ukraine's independence alongside his brothers-in-arms.
In addition to his combat experience, Lesyk spoke openly about the difficulties faced by LGBT people in Ukrainian society and the army. He emphasized the importance of acceptance and understanding of diversity, noting that everyone who defends the country deserves respect and equal rights.
The veteran paid special attention to the discussion of the new Civil Code of Ukraine. He noted that certain legislative initiatives could create additional obstacles for members of the LGBT community, particularly regarding medical care and the legal protection of families.
