Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Ukraine needs more Patriot systems to protect its skies
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the receipt of a new batch of missiles for Patriot air defense systems. According to the head of state, Ukraine already has a certain amount of ammunition, but the volume remains insufficient to fully protect the country from enemy attacks.
Patriot systems play a critically important role in repelling air strikes. They are capable of intercepting ballistic missiles and other complex targets that Russia regularly uses to shell Ukrainian cities. This is precisely why strengthening air defense remains the top priority for the Ukrainian government in its cooperation with international partners.
The President emphasized that for the safety of the civilian population and the protection of critical infrastructure, Ukraine needs significantly more air defense systems and missiles for them. The search for additional resources and negotiations with allied countries regarding new supplies continue every day.
Ensuring effective protection of the skies remains one of the most difficult challenges for Ukraine during the war. The government continues to work on obtaining the necessary assistance from Western partners as quickly as possible, as the lives of thousands of Ukrainians depend on it.
