A new professional holiday has been established in Ukraine: Signal and Cybersecurity Troops Day
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree establishing a new professional holiday — the Day of Signal and Cybersecurity Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From now on, this day will be officially celebrated annually on August 8. This decision highlights the important role of modern technology in the defense of our state.
Previously, Ukrainian military signalers also celebrated their professional holiday on August 8. However, the new name of the holiday reflects the changes that have taken place in the structure of the army. Cybersecurity has become a critically important part of defense, as modern warfare is waged not only on the battlefield but also in the digital space.
Signal troops ensure the continuous command and control of units, while cybersecurity specialists protect state systems from enemy hacker attacks. In the context of the full-scale invasion, their work is the foundation for the effective coordination of the actions of Ukrainian defenders.
The establishment of this holiday is a sign of respect for the professionalism of thousands of specialists who work daily on the security of Ukraine's information space. It is also a reminder that the technological development of the army is one of the main priorities for our country in the fight for independence.
