ICC Ukraine calls for reducing the tariff burden on Ukrainian industry
The International Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ICC Ukraine) has issued an important statement regarding the economic situation in the country. The organization has called on the government and relevant agencies to review tariff policies for industrial enterprises in order to support domestic producers during the war.
The industrial sector plays a key role in shaping Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP). However, today enterprises are facing a number of serious challenges, including energy problems, logistical difficulties, and limited access to sales markets. According to ICC Ukraine experts, additional financial pressure could negatively affect the stability of factory operations.
One of the main issues raised by the organization concerns plans to increase freight transportation tariffs by Ukrzaliznytsia. Business representatives emphasize that any increase in logistics costs under current conditions leads to a decrease in the competitiveness of Ukrainian products in international markets.
In its statement, ICC Ukraine emphasizes the need for dialogue between the state and business. The organization proposes developing balanced solutions that will allow for the preservation of jobs and ensure tax revenues to the budget without creating critical pressure on manufacturers.
Currently, the issue of tariffs remains a subject of discussion between industrialists and government representatives. It is expected that the parties will hold consultations in the near future to find a compromise that will help Ukrainian industry survive this difficult period.
