High Anti-Corruption Court sets bail for former chairman of the supervisory board of Sense Bank
The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) has issued a ruling regarding the case of the former chairman of the supervisory board of Sense Bank, Yuriy Gladishenko. The court set his bail at 7 million hryvnias. This event is part of a large-scale investigation into the activities of the financial institution, which previously belonged to sanctioned Russian businessmen.
The investigation suspects the former bank management of abuse of office. According to law enforcement officials, the actions of the officials led to financial losses and violations of the law during the management of banking assets. The case has been unofficially dubbed the "Forrest Gump Case" due to certain peculiarities in the procedural documents presented during the hearings.
According to the court's decision, Yuriy Gladishenko must pay the specified bail amount within five days. In addition, he has been assigned a number of procedural obligations: he must surrender his passport for travel abroad, not leave the city limits without the investigator's permission, and regularly appear for questioning by law enforcement agencies.
Recall that Sense Bank was nationalized by the state in 2023. This decision was made to ensure the stability of Ukraine's financial system under martial law. The investigation into the bank's former managers is ongoing, and law enforcement officers continue to examine all circumstances of the financial institution's activities prior to its transition under state control.
The trial of the former chairman of the supervisory board is an important step in the fight against corruption in the banking sector. The public and experts are closely monitoring the development of events, as this case demonstrates the determination of Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies to hold individuals involved in financial violations accountable.
