American company Swarmer acquires Ukrainian robot manufacturer Ratel Robotics
American defense company Swarmer has announced plans to acquire the Ukrainian developer of ground-based robotic systems, Ratel Robotics. According to The Wall Street Journal, the deal is valued at $224 million.
Ratel Robotics is well-known in Ukraine for creating ground drones that are actively used on the front lines. Their developments, such as the "Ratel S," help Ukrainian soldiers carry out combat missions, including mining objects and destroying enemy equipment, while remaining at a safe distance.
This acquisition demonstrates the high level of interest from international investors in Ukrainian defense technologies. The experience gained during the war makes Ukrainian developments in the field of unmanned systems some of the most effective and sought-after in the world.
It is expected that combining Swarmer's resources with the expertise of Ukrainian engineers will help scale up robot production. This will allow for the faster delivery of modern equipment for defense needs and will strengthen technological cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the military-industrial sector.
