South Korean consortium withdraws from managing Montenegro's airports
The Government of Montenegro has officially announced that a South Korean consortium has withdrawn from participating in the local airport concession project. This decision was confirmed by a letter received by government structures on July 18.
The concession involved transferring the management of airports in Podgorica and Tivat to a private company for a long-term period. The participation of international investors was intended to help modernize infrastructure and improve the quality of passenger services in the country.
At present, the reasons for this decision by the South Korean side have not been disclosed. Representatives of the Montenegrin government have not yet provided detailed comments on how this step will affect the state's future plans for the development of the aviation industry.
This event is significant for the region, as Montenegro's airports are key hubs for international connectivity, particularly for tourists and business travelers. The investor's withdrawal forces the country's authorities to seek new ways to develop transport infrastructure in the future.
