“112 Ukraine” app: over 679,000 downloads for citizen safety
The “112 Ukraine” app has become an essential tool for the safety of Ukrainians. Since the service began operating, it has been installed by over 679,000 users. This was announced by the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
The main goal of this application is to provide quick access to emergency services. Thanks to it, citizens can call the police, ambulance, rescuers, or the gas service with the press of a button. This is especially important under martial law, when every second counts.
A unique feature of the app is the ability to connect via video call with an operator. This helps people with hearing or speech impairments receive assistance without using their voice. Furthermore, the service automatically transmits the applicant's geolocation, which allows services to arrive at the scene faster.
Currently, the app works in most regions of Ukraine and is gradually covering the entire territory of the country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the digitalization of emergency services is one of the priority tasks for increasing public safety.
Experts advise citizens to download “112 Ukraine” to their smartphones in advance. It is a simple way to be prepared for any emergency situation and receive professional help in a timely manner.
