Ukraine's defense industry is in need of new specialists
Since the start of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex has demonstrated significant growth. The production capacities of enterprises have increased to a scale that seemed unattainable just a few years ago. Today, Ukraine independently manufactures a wide range of weapons and equipment for the needs of the front.
However, the rapid development of the industry has created a new, serious problem: a shortage of qualified personnel. Defense enterprises are experiencing an acute lack of engineers, designers, and technical specialists. Many professionals are currently serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and there are not enough new industry professionals to meet all production needs.
Experts currently note that the defense sector has "hit a personnel ceiling." This means that further increases in the pace of weapons production depend not only on funding or raw materials, but primarily on the availability of people capable of designing and maintaining complex systems.
To resolve this situation, the state and private companies are considering various paths: from retraining programs to attracting young specialists from technical universities. The issue of training new engineering personnel is becoming one of the key factors for maintaining the country's defense capability in the long term.
