Ukraine is developing new interceptor drones to combat Russian UAVs
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian specialists are currently actively working on creating new technologies to protect the skies. Testing is currently underway for five models of interceptor drones, which are intended to help more effectively combat Russian jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to official sources, Ukrainian air defense forces currently shoot down about 57% of enemy jet drones. This figure is significantly lower than the effectiveness of countering standard drones, which stands at 85-90%. That is precisely why the development of specialized interception tools is a critically important task for the country's security.
New developments are aimed at increasing the accuracy and speed of response to threats. The use of jet UAVs by the enemy creates new challenges, as they are faster and more difficult to detect and engage using traditional methods.
Ukraine continues to invest in defense innovations to adapt to changes on the battlefield. It is expected that successful testing of the new drones will allow for a significant strengthening of the protection of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure from aerial attacks in the future.
