Ukraine demands international assistance for residents of occupied Oleshky
Ukraine has officially appealed to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) with a demand to address the critical humanitarian situation in the city of Oleshky, located in the Kherson region. This city is currently under temporary Russian occupation, and the situation there is becoming increasingly dangerous for the civilian population.
According to the Ukrainian side, the city's residents are on the verge of starvation. The occupation authorities are failing to provide people with essential food, medicine, and drinking water. Furthermore, access to humanitarian aid from Ukrainian-controlled territories for the residents of Oleshky is currently blocked.
Ukrainian diplomats emphasize that such actions by the occupiers constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law. The issue of the catastrophic conditions in the city has been brought to the urgent attention of the OSCE Permanent Council to draw the world community's attention to the suffering of Ukrainians in occupied territories.
International organizations must increase pressure on Russia to ensure a safe humanitarian corridor for the delivery of aid. Ukraine continues to work toward saving its citizens who have been left in isolation due to military actions and occupation.
