Russia plans to abolish border zones on the border with occupied territories of Ukraine
Russian authorities are preparing for further changes to the status of border territories. According to the latest data, the Kremlin plans to abolish border zones in certain sections of the Rostov and Voronezh regions that border the temporarily occupied districts of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasizes that such actions are part of Moscow's strategy to fully integrate the seized Ukrainian territories into its legal and administrative space. In effect, Russia is attempting to "erase" the border to facilitate the movement of military equipment, personnel, and resources between its own regions and the occupied parts of Ukraine.
Experts note that the abolition of border control will allow the occupation authorities to conduct logistics operations more quickly. It also complicates the monitoring of the situation at the border, as formal restrictions on the movement of transport and people will be lifted.
These steps by the Kremlin are further evidence of attempts to legitimize the occupation of Ukrainian lands through administrative changes. The international community continues to monitor the development of events, emphasizing that any changes to the status of territories that are part of Ukraine have no legal force.
