The number of organ transplant surgeries has increased in Ukraine
Over the last six months, the number of organ transplant surgeries in Ukraine has increased significantly. According to data from medical institutions, doctors performed 327 organ transplants and 280 bone marrow transplants. This is almost 30% more than in the same period last year.
Medics report that out of all the surgeries performed, one in ten was carried out on children. This indicates the development of the healthcare system and increased accessibility of high-tech care for the youngest patients.
Statistics show the diversity of the interventions performed. Specifically, doctors carried out 184 kidney transplants, 88 liver transplant surgeries, and 55 heart transplants. Each of these operations gives patients a chance at a full life.
The increase in the number of such interventions is an important indicator for Ukrainian medicine. Despite difficult conditions, Ukrainian doctors continue to save lives and implement modern treatment methods that were previously less accessible to citizens.
