Ukraine to receive $841 million in financial support from the World Bank
Ukraine will receive $841 million in budget support in the near future. These funds will be provided by the World Bank under financial guarantees from the Government of Canada. This was officially announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine on September 14.
This financial assistance is part of a strategy to support the Ukrainian economy amidst the full-scale war. The funds received will be directed toward covering state budget expenditures, which will ensure the stable operation of government institutions and social payments for citizens.
Canada has long remained one of Ukraine's key partners. Thanks to the guarantees of the Canadian government, Ukraine has the opportunity to attract funds from international financial organizations on favorable terms. This significantly facilitates the financing of the country's critical needs during a difficult period.
Cooperation with the World Bank plays an important role in strengthening Ukraine's economic resilience. In addition to direct financial assistance, international partners also provide expert support for implementing important reforms and restoring infrastructure damaged by military actions.
It is expected that these funds will reach the state budget in the near future. Such support from the international community helps Ukraine maintain financial stability and continue the fight for its independence.
