Sport as support: how the "Carpathian Legion" project helps children from frontline regions
The sociological group "Rating" presented the results of a discussion dedicated to the impact of sports on the mental health of teenagers. The main topic of the meeting was the "Carpathian Legion" project, which is aimed at helping children living in the frontline regions of Ukraine.
During the presentation, experts emphasized that physical activity is one of the most effective tools for overcoming stress and anxiety. For teenagers who face the consequences of war every day, sports become not only a way to strengthen their health but also an opportunity to distract themselves from difficult events.
The "Carpathian Legion" project creates a safe space where children can play sports, socialize with their peers, and receive psychological support. The organizers note that such initiatives help young people develop self-confidence and better adapt to difficult life circumstances.
Participants in the discussion emphasized that the integration of sports programs into the lives of children from affected areas is critically important. This helps reduce the level of psychological tension and promotes the socialization of teenagers in new environments.
At the end of the meeting, experts called for the continued development of such projects across the country. Ensuring access to sports activities for children from frontline zones remains one of the priority tasks for supporting the future generation of Ukrainians.
