Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine proposes allowing limited gas exports
The Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine (AGPU) has put forward an initiative for the partial resumption of natural gas exports. According to the association's experts, such a move could become an important source of funding for the country's energy sector during the war.
The main goal of this proposal is to obtain additional funds necessary for the restoration of damaged infrastructure. Due to constant shelling, energy facilities require ongoing repairs, and gas production companies need investments to drill new wells and increase fuel production volumes.
Representatives of the AGPU emphasize that exports should only take place under strict state control. This means that the government must have the ability to regulate the volumes of gas sold abroad to guarantee a stable heating season and ensure the needs of domestic consumers are met.
Currently, the issue of energy resource exports remains a subject of debate. The government of Ukraine must carefully analyze all the risks and benefits of such a decision in order to find a balance between supporting the gas production industry and ensuring the state's energy security.
