NACP summarizes the results of the first lobbying control campaign in Ukraine
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has released the results of the first large-scale campaign to monitor lobbying activities in Ukraine. This is a new mechanism intended to make the interaction between business and government more transparent and understandable to the public.
According to the report, 624 lobbying subjects were recorded during this period. This means that representatives of various organizations reached out to government authorities more than 600 times to influence the adoption of certain decisions or draft laws. In addition, specialists counted hundreds of official contacts between lobbyists and civil servants.
The main goal of introducing such rules is to prevent corruption risks. Previously, such negotiations often took place "behind closed doors," which caused public distrust. Now, every instance of lobbying must be officially registered in a special registry, which is available for public viewing.
Experts note that this process is an important step for Ukraine's European integration. Transparent rules of the game help businesses legally protect their interests, and the state to avoid illegal pressure. The NACP plans to continue monitoring this area to ensure compliance with the new laws by all participants in the process.
Currently, the agency continues to analyze the data received to improve the reporting system. It is expected that the number of registered contacts will grow in the future as businesses gradually get used to the new legislative requirements.
