Latvian Prime Minister calls on Europeans to increase support for Ukraine
Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa has appealed to European Union countries to strengthen their assistance to Ukraine. She emphasized the importance of continued support in the fight against Russian aggression, as this issue remains key to the security of all of Europe.
The head of the Latvian government proposed a simple but effective solution for financial support. According to her, if every resident of the European Union were to forgo the cost of just one glass of beer per year and donate those funds to help Ukraine, it would allow for the collection of a significant sum for the needs of the Ukrainian army and the country's reconstruction.
This initiative highlights that even small contributions from millions of people can make a big difference on a global scale. Latvia remains one of Ukraine's most consistent allies, actively advocating for the provision of military and financial aid at the level of European institutions.
Currently, European leaders continue to discuss new aid packages for Ukraine. Latvia's call is intended to remind EU citizens of the importance of solidarity and shared responsibility for the future of the democratic world.
