Pavlo Palisa refutes rumors about his appointment as Ukraine's ambassador to the USA
Commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar" Pavlo Palisa has officially stated that he does not plan to hold the position of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States of America. The officer emphasized that he is currently continuing to perform his military duties and is focused on defending the state.
The question of appointing a new Ukrainian ambassador in Washington remains a relevant topic for Ukrainian society and international partners. The position has remained vacant since the conclusion of the previous diplomatic representative's term, which has generated significant interest in media and political circles.
Previously, reports appeared in Ukrainian media suggesting that other high-ranking officials might be contenders for this diplomatic post. In particular, experts and journalists named former Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, and current Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov among the possible candidates.
Despite the large number of rumors, no official confirmation regarding a candidate for the ambassador position has been issued by the Office of the President of Ukraine. The process of appointing diplomats at this level requires lengthy consultations both within the country and with the American side.
For now, Pavlo Palisa continues his service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His statement puts an end to discussions regarding his potential transition to diplomatic work, underscoring the priority of military service for the officer amidst a full-scale war.
