Ukraine discusses the introduction of a new reconstruction tax
An initiative is currently being considered in Ukraine to create a special tax, the funds from which would be directed toward the country's reconstruction. This proposal is part of a strategy to finance large-scale infrastructure restoration projects damaged as a result of hostilities.
According to preliminary data, this new tax could replace the current 5% military levy once martial law ends. In this way, the state plans to transform the taxation system to ensure stable budget revenues for post-war development.
Experts note that the issue of financing reconstruction is one of the key factors for Ukraine's economic stability. Implementing such a tax would allow for the mobilization of internal resources to rebuild housing, roads, and energy infrastructure facilities.
Discussions regarding this initiative are currently ongoing at the level of government structures. A final decision on the structure and rates of the tax has not yet been made, but the authorities continue to seek the most effective ways to financially secure the future reconstruction of the state.
