Ukrainian veterans took part in the Invictus sports festival in Düsseldorf
A large-scale sporting event, the Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026, took place in the German city of Düsseldorf. This event brings together veterans and military personnel who were injured in the line of duty, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their strength and resilience through sports.
The Ukrainian national team included 20 participants representing various regions of our country. Among them are veteran support specialists, as well as individuals who continue to work and develop actively despite their injuries.
Participation in such competitions is an important part of the rehabilitation and socialization process for Ukrainian defenders. Sports help veterans not only to improve their physical condition but also to find new motivation, support among like-minded people, and a sense of community.
The festival organizers emphasize that the Invictus Games and similar events aim to draw public attention to the needs of veterans. It is also an opportunity for the international community to express respect for Ukrainian heroes and their contribution to the fight for independence.
The Ukrainian team is expected to return home in the near future. The successful performance of our athletes in Düsseldorf proves once again that Ukrainians remain invincible both on the battlefield and in civilian life.
