From April 1, Ukraine is updating the sick leave processing system
From April 1, changes to the system for processing and paying for sick leave certificates begin in Ukraine. These innovations concern the procedure for obtaining official documents confirming the temporary disability of employees and affect the process of calculating payments.
The main goal of the changes is to simplify the procedure for patients and employers. The electronic sick leave certificate remains the primary document, but the rules for its issuance and data processing timelines are being updated. This will help make the process more transparent and reduce the amount of paperwork for medical institutions.
From now on, doctors will more strictly adhere to established deadlines when opening and closing sick leave certificates. Importantly, the amount of payments will continue to depend on the employee's insurance record and their average salary. The changes do not cancel citizens' right to receive assistance, but only optimize the technical aspects of its calculation.
It is important for employees to notify their employer in a timely manner about the opening of a sick leave certificate. Since the system is becoming more automated, data on disability will reach the Pension Fund of Ukraine faster, which should speed up the process of receiving funds on bank cards.
Experts advise citizens to carefully monitor updates in their personal accounts on government service portals. In case of questions regarding accruals, Ukrainians can contact the human resources departments of their companies or directly to the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund.
