Metinvest Group halts operations at two major steel plants
Metinvest Group, one of the largest steel producers in Ukraine, has announced the forced suspension of operations at two of its key enterprises. The Kametstal and Zaporizhstal steel plants are temporarily ceasing production activities.
Due to the shutdown of the plants, the company has officially declared a force majeure event. This means that Metinvest will be unable to fulfill a portion of its obligations under existing contracts with partners and clients on time.
The situation at the enterprises has arisen due to the difficult conditions facing Ukrainian industry during the war. The suspension of such large production facilities significantly impacts the overall economic situation in the country's metallurgical sector.
At present, company representatives are not providing detailed forecasts regarding exactly when the plants will be able to resume operations. Metinvest's management continues to assess the consequences of the shutdown and is working to minimize the impact of this decision on the fulfillment of international and domestic agreements.
